🤝 What is Cowork Collective?

Cowork Collective is a collection of hands-on lab missions for trying Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork yourself. Copilot Cowork is a new type of agent that, when you delegate a task, plans and executes multiple steps on its own across your Microsoft 365 environment, including email, calendar, documents, and Teams.

The flow is simple.

  1. Describe the outcome you want in natural language.
  2. Copilot Cowork breaks the task into steps and creates a plan.
  3. Before taking real actions such as sending email, scheduling meetings, creating documents, or posting to Teams, it asks for your approval.

Note (prerequisites) Copilot Cowork is currently available through the Microsoft 365 Frontier preview program. To complete the labs, both the user account and tenant need Frontier access. Cowork also depends on Anthropic models, so an admin must enable those models in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Copilot Cowork provides the following built-in skills.

  • Communication: compose and send email, post to Teams channels, organize the inbox
  • Documents: create Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint files, and PDFs
  • Calendar: schedule meetings with natural language, manage calendar conflicts, create daily briefings
  • Search: search for information and people in the organization, perform deep research
  • Automation: run repetitive tasks on a schedule

You can also register additional custom skills (SKILL.md) stored in OneDrive, and most tasks request user approval before execution.
